Person-centred planning: helping children determine their own futures
Tuesday, 20 August 2024 | 10am – 12pm | Online
Develop person-centred planning tools to support the children and young people you work with as they start the new academic year.
This session is aimed at professionals working with children and young people in a direct setting.
Key Learning
- How future planning can help children and young people in finding focus and motivation
- Brain functions, and how they link to goal attainment
- Strategies to help children identify what is important to them, their strengths and who can support them
- Tools to create realistic, practical timelines with children and young people for moving towards their goal
Future planning increases self-confidence, resilience and helps young people to make more informed decisions. Develop your practice in supporting children and young people to understand where they are in life and what they want to work towards – whether in relation to their education, relationships, health or care.
This webinar will explore brain development, functions and emotional regulation and how these link to goal attainment. You will learn how to create a person-centred pathway, a practical tool that can support young people with their goals, as well as your own professional development.
