Our communications team welcomes enquiries and requests for comment on a range of topical child policy issues, including:

• Children’s rights
• Education
• Children’s health and wellbeing
• Inclusion
• Poverty and inequality
• Early years and childcare.

We are usually unable to respond to requests concerning stories about individuals.

Our services and managed funds

The communications team handles media enquiries for a number of services and managed funds. Please note that staff in these services cannot respond to media requests sent directly to them. Any media queries received by our service teams will be re-directed to the communications team.

Children in Scotland manages the following services.

My Rights, My Say – supporting the rights of children with additional support needs aged 12-15 to be more involved in the decisions that affect them.
Resolve: ASL – the largest provider of Additional Support Needs (ASN) mediation in Scotland.

Our managed funds

We currently manage two funds, aimed at strengthening inclusive childcare, and opening up childcare, particularly for low-income families.

Early Learning & Childcare (ELC) Inclusion Fund – provides funding to ELC settings to support children with additional support needs (ASN) in Scotland access their funded ELC entitlement.
Access to Childcare Fund – designed to support childcare solutions that enable more accessible and affordable childcare for families.
