Children in Scotland's 30th anniversary

Children in Scotland celebrates its 30th anniversary on 7 June 2023. Here, the organisation’s Chief Executive, Judith Turbyne, reflects on how the charity has brought meaningful change to the lives of children and young people over the past three decades.

As Children in Scotland turns 30, the organisation's Head of Engagement & Learning, Simon Massey, reflects on how working with care experienced children and young people has been a thread running throughout his career.

In September 2018, the Not Included, Not Engaged, Not Involved (NINENI) report was published, highlighting the experiences of children with autism missing school and launching a campaign calling for action to address the barriers to them accessing a fulfilling education and in particular to stop the use of unlawful exclusions.

One of Children in Scotland’s significant achievements during its 30-year history has been providing support for thousands of children and young people through its national services, which include Enquire, Resolve and My Rights My Say.
