In-house training: popular CPD themes

We can offer half-day, full-day and multiple day training for you and your team.

We deliver bespoke training solutions, working directly with you and our trainers to assess your organisation’s or team’s objectives and key learning needs.

We also run a range of regular open schedule CPD training events which we can adapt in length, content and focus to suit your particular objectives and key learning needs.

Our most popular CPD training includes:

Child protection

This training offers an overview of child protection and will equip you with the skills to act appropriately and confidently with the children and young people you work with.

Supporting children with additional support needs

This training will equip you with the confidence and skills you need to support children who have additional support needs.

Adversity and healing

Our training will help you understand why we’re talking about ACEs, and support you to be trauma-informed as well as gain the necessary skills and knowledge to promote healing and support recovery.

Understanding behaviours

This workshop will help you learn why children and young people behave as they do, how they experience emotions, why they act out, and how you can respond effectively.

Mindfulness work with children and young people

This very practical workshop will introduce you to mindfulness, focusing on the origins of mindfulness and how it can benefit children and young people.

Raising attainment

Our learning opportunities bring new thinking and ideas for educators delivering Curriculum for Excellence.

What delegates have said:

“The Child Protection training was of an extremely high standard. The trainer had years of experience in the subject area and this clearly shone through in every aspect of the session.”

“We would definitely recommend Children in Scotland training to anyone, particularly for third sector organisations who often provide vital support to children, young people and families but may not have access to resources and support that organisations from other sectors often do.”

– Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector, 2017 –
