Children in Scotland : Family Support Worker (full time/part time considered)

  • Edinburgh
  • Full time (35 hours per week)
  • £22,968 (pro-rata for part time) per annum

The Family Support Worker will be based at Granton Early Years Centre working with the Centre Manager on a daily basis in order to develop and deliver the Open Kindergarten (OK) project. Open Kindergartens are a long-standing concept in parent support in the Nordic countries, providing group support open to all parents and their young children, where children are not in full-time day care. Groups meet regularly in early years centres and are staffed by qualified early years workers with input from specialists. The key objectives are to reduce social isolation among parents of very young children (0-3 years), support effective parenting, and, critically, contribute to optimising child wellbeing in health, learning and development.
