Such an informative session! I've attended so many of these sessions before but this one surpassed my expectation. Jackie was so knowledgeable and no judgemental, allowing all participants to feel comfortable to ask questions..which she answered so fully! I would highly recommend this to any other child protection lead.
As the CP lead it has helped me understand my role.
It's been beneficial in confirming that our policies and procedures are on the right track and given me some ideas to check out further on our policies
I thought it was a generally sensitive trauma-informed approach at all times which I haven't always experienced on child protection training.
It made me think about the wider implications of my CP role - in terms of organisational approaches / training needs / etc - not just the decision / referral / recording aspects
A combination of having what I know as a practitioner validated but also having the opportunity to learn and share best practice with colleagues in related roles. The trainer was brilliant - she led the session in a really focused and professional way but also made space for us to be heard and really held a space for sharing sometimes difficult material.
