Key Learning
- Develop an understanding of the prevalence of misogynistic online content and how it impacts young people's behaviours and relationships
- Build confident in talking to young people about misogynistic content and harmful masculinity
- Practical ideas about how to support young people to think critically about gender stereotypes and expectations
Zero Tolerance will share the findings of their project work which highlights the harm online content can have on boys’ mental health and relationships, as well as the impact on all young people. The session is based on a participatory research project Zero Tolerance completed with young people, drawing on their insight on how to prevent 'incel' radicalisation. There will be the opportunity to explore different strategies that could be used to support children and young people in your settings.
Facilitator

Zero Tolerance is a Scottish charity working to end men’s violence against women by tackling its root cause: gender inequality. Zero Tolerance began in 1992 with a groundbreaking and radical Edinburgh-based poster campaign. The campaign successfully brought the issue of violence against women out from behind closed doors and into public consciousness by asserting that violence against women is never acceptable.
Currently, Zero Tolerance provides training and resources to that focus challenging gender-based violence and stereotypes, and promoting equality.
