Key Learning

  • Explore how the principles of good governance can support organisational change
  • Discuss the importance of collective responsibility and the relationship between the board and staff, with a focus on separating strategic and operational actions
  • Have a chance to ask specific questions about governance challenges they are facing.

It is a sad reality that many organisations are currently going through difficult change processes. This session is a chance to take a bit of time to consider what you need to do to ensure your board is playing the appropriate role in that process. It will touch on the principles of good governance before focussing on what good governance looks like when an organisation is going through change. We will look at collective responsibility, CEO/chair relationships and how to separate the strategic from the operational. There will be an opportunity to explore your own challenges through questions and discussion.
