Children in Scotland to manage National Third Sector GIRFEC project

Children in Scotland is due to take on management of the National Third Sector Getting it Right for Every Child Project.

The project, a unique Public Social Partnership, has been run since 2013 by sector partners Barnardo’s Scotland, Voluntary Action Scotland and the Improvement Service.

Since its launch the project, which is funded by the Scottish Government, has focused on delivering:

• support to strengthen third sector engagement infrastructure locally, enabling effective participation in children's services planning

• local workshops to increase the knowledge of the Getting it right for every child approach and support to capture the contribution made to children and young peoples’ wellbeing by the third sector

• networking and learning events for stakeholders within children’s services.

From April, it will transfer to Children in Scotland for an initial six-month period.

A press release with further details about the project will be issued soon.
