Action for Children

Based in Moray, Action for Children is looking to test childcare provision in a rural setting with an established Employability Programme to encourage families into employment.

The childcare will take place after school and during holidays, including using the ACF grant to help refurbish the indoor and outdoor space of their building in Elgin, focused on the provision of food.

Moving into OSC is a change for AfC; their primary business around the north east is provision of residential care homes for children and support to vulnerable families.

The test of change relates to actively linking their AFC-funded OSC provision to their established employability programme, to reduce one known barrier to parents (women especially) being able to take up work.
