A new era for Children in Scotland magazine begins

Children in Scotland’s new magazine web pages have launched today, providing free topical content covering all the key issues relevant to the children's sector.
The development marks an evolution of Children in Scotland magazine, which was produced in print from 2001 until the start of the coronavirus pandemic last year, and as an e-publication from Spring 2020 until earlier this summer.
The new magazine web pages will provide weekly news, topical comment, analysis, interviews and project updates, building on Children in Scotland’s role as a sector leader for authoritative content, knowledge exchange and practice improvement.
Jennifer Drummond, Editor of the magazine web pages, said:
“Earlier this year, we undertook a review of our communications output and made the decision to end the publication of Children in Scotland magazine.
“The magazine had been published for 20 years and had played a hugely valuable role over those two decades. But we have become increasingly aware of an appetite for more regular, responsive content and the changing ways in which audiences now consume content – especially in light of the pandemic.
“These new pages provide a platform for us to bring the sector rolling content, without the constraints of a bi-monthly publication schedule. We hope it will become the go-to for those looking for news and views from across the Scottish children’s sector.”
For additional in-depth analysis, comment and reflection, a new members-only publication will launch in the autumn. More details will follow soon.
