Flexible Childcare Services Scotland
The Fund is supporting two FCSS services, one the well-established FCSS service at Fintry, Dundee and the other a new service being set up at Fraserburgh.
Both services are consulting with parents and children to understand needs and wants, including establishing a children’s forum. This will trial a fully flexible model where parents pay only for the hours they use.
In FCSS Fintry, the ACF fund is also being used to extend current capacity by creating a new outdoor space and creating more opportunities for all their children to engage in outdoor play. In Fraserburgh, the ACF funding is being primarily used to establish a new service in a local school.
The test of cbange in the case of Fintry is about the impact of more and better use of some permanent outdoor provision at their premises. The test of change in Fraserburgh’s case is about the sustainability of opening a new service which can be only initially supported by the ACF.
