Children in Scotland Magazine marks 20 years and 200 editions
15 February 2021
The latest edition of Children in Scotland Magazine is now available – marking 20 years and 200 issues of the flagship publication.
Our February edition reflects on the impact of the last year on our collective physical, emotional and mental health. We speak to experts from a variety of fields about how we can ‘build back better’ and identify where we need to focus resources moving forward.
In this anniversary issue: meet Gina Wilson, Head of Strategy with the Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland; hear about the future of the Out of School Care sector; read about recommendations for education and calls for policy change to address child poverty, and more.
The latest edition also features our regular news round-up from the sector, details of our Emerging Minds project and a reflection on the development of the magazine, in terms of its editorial and visual identity, since it launched in 2001.
Jennifer Drummond, Editor of Children in Scotland Magazine, said:
“This edition is a milestone for us, celebrating 20 years and 200 issues of the publication. Over the years we’ve tracked developments, featured important research into children and families, championed legislative change and provided a platform for those who are often under-represented at policy level.
"To have reached our 200th edition shows the important role the magazine plays in the Scottish children’s sector. Thank you to our readers, and our members, for supporting us."
