Lizz Toomey
Senior Learning & Events Officer
Lizz has worked in Children in Scotland’s Learning & Events team since September 2021. She joined as a Learning & Events Officer before starting her current role in January 2024.
Previously, Lizz worked as a secondary school English teacher in and around London, including in a low-secure CAMHS hospital school. She also has several years’ experience working at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and other festivals. She has a keen interest in youth participation and children’s rights as well as education, health, and social welfare reforms.
She studied English & Scottish Literature at the University of Edinburgh and writes in her spare time.
