Lizz Toomey
Learning & Events Officer
Lizz joined Children in Scotland in September 2021 as a Learning & Events Officer. The key focus of her role is to plan and support the development of learning and training opportunities for the children’s sector workforce.
Previously, Lizz worked as a secondary school teacher in and around London. Her last teaching role was English Lead at a school in a low-secure CAMHS hospital for young people sectioned under the Mental Health Act. She has a keen interest in youth participation and children’s rights as well as education, health, and social welfare reforms.
She studied English & Scottish Literature at the University of Edinburgh and writes in her spare time.
