ABCD – Local Early Years Strategy Analysis and Evaluation

This piece of work was carried out between 2013 and 2014.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran commissioned Children in Scotland to carry out the final evaluation of its innovative three-year assets-based community development project.

The aim of the project was to tackle health inequalities in the early years through outreach initiatives encompassing speech and language therapy, child and adolescent mental health services, healthy eating programmes and baby first aid amongst others.

The evaluation gathered an understanding to the approaches and models used and assessed the effectiveness of implementation and partnership working. Evidence was also gathered in relation to how the approaches impacted on children and families in Irvine and Ardrossan.
