Learning disability charity appoints new Chief Executive at critical time for the sector

A former children’s commissioner has been appointed to lead Scotland’s national learning disability charity.

Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities confirmed the appointment of a new Chief Executive, bringing experience in children’s rights and public policy to the role.

The organisation said the appointment comes at a critical time for the sector, with ongoing challenges around inclusion, funding and access to services.

The new Chief Executive, Bruce Adamson, is expected to focus on strengthening advocacy and improving outcomes for people with learning disabilities across Scotland.
