Julie Thomson

Julie joined Children in Scotland in May 2023, as Communications & Marketing Manager.

Julie began her career in charity comms two decades ago in Dublin. After completing a BA (Hons) at Trinity College Dublin, she worked in the press office of a cross-border peace charity, and later took up a fundraising role in the national health service in Ireland. She moved to Edinburgh in 2010 to study an MA in Marketing.

Since her time in Scotland, Julie has held both digital and traditional comms roles across a wide range of sectors from forestry to animal welfare. She has a passion for developing digital communities, creative fundraising campaigns and engaging membership comms.

When she’s not at work, Julie loves to spend time with her two children and her springer spaniel, Albie.
