How we work

Our goal is to engage children and young people in meaningful, ongoing dialogue and to enable them to have effective and fulfilling participation in all areas of our work. This helps ensure their voices influence our own decisions and practices, and those of policymakers and practitioners.

Participation is also an important mechanism to ensure that we are communicating to our members the views and perspectives of children and young people on a wide variety of issues. We combine this with the best available evidence of what works for supporting children and their families.

We do this through:

  • Changing our World, our children and young people’s advisory group that shapes all aspects of our work
  • The young people sitting on our Board of Directors
  • An internal Participation and Engagement cross-organisation development group
  • Delivery of specific projects and work focusing on the voices and experiences of children and young people.
