Innes Burns is Communications Offer at Children in Scotland. He joined the organisation in 2025 as part of the My Rights, My Say service, a role which saw him co-managing the Young Advisors group, before moving to his current role with the Communications & Marketing team in early 2026.

Innes is responsible much of our print and digital news content and helps to maintain our social media presence.

Before this, he worked in digital media and communications for various organisations. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Communication, specialising in the quality of language surrounding debates in humanitarian interventions. Alongside his communications experience, he has a strong background in youth work.

Outside of work

Outside of work, you’ll often find Innes in a podcast studio or at the football.
