New national vision highlights role of local government in shaping future education
New national vision sets out vision for school-age learning.
Local authorities have set out a new vision for the future of school-age learning in Scotland, calling for a more flexible and inclusive approach to education.
COSLA said the system must better respond to rising levels of need, with a stronger focus on wellbeing, equity and partnership working across services.
The vision highlights the role of councils in shaping learning that reflects local communities, while preparing children and young people for a changing world.
Leaders are also calling for sustained investment and greater local decision-making powers to deliver the changes outlined.
More information, including the full vision document, is available on COSLA’s website.
