Review launched into Scotland’s children’s care laws
New review to examine how children’s care laws work in practice
An independent review of Scotland’s children’s care legislation is now underway, aiming to assess how existing laws support children, families and practitioners.
The review is being supported by CELCIS and will gather evidence from across the sector.
It will examine whether current legislation is fit for purpose, and explore how it could be simplified or strengthened to improve outcomes.
Those leading the work say the review is an opportunity to ensure the legal framework reflects the needs of children and young people today.
