Lizz Toomey
Lizz is part of Children in Scotland’s Learning & Events team. She joined Children in Scotland in September 2021. Lizz leads on Children in Scotland’s bespoke training offer, as well as specific projects involving developing learning opportunities for children’s sector professionals.
Lizz is a qualified secondary school English teacher. She previously worked in secondary schools in and around London, as well as in a CAMHS low-secure hospital school. She also brings previous events experience working with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society for numerous festivals around the UK.
She has a keen interest in co-designing learning opportunities for the children’s sector through collaborating with children and young people themselves, as well as other frontline professionals. She has been able to bring this passion into reality in her work on the #KeepThePromise Pupil Support Staff Learning Programme, Children in Scotland’s Annual Conference, and the More Than My Trauma, Let’s Talk Trauma eLearning module.
