Claire Slocombe

Claire joined Children in Scotland in August 2025 as a Children’s Views Project Officer to support education professionals to better engage with children with complex needs.

Prior to this Claire worked as an Attachment Lead Teacher, supporting professionals within education and other services to better understand and respond to pupils needs, developing positive, trusting relationships to improve young people’s experience of school.

Claire is also a Panel Member with Children’s Hearing Scotland making legal decisions with and for infants, children and young people. Her role is to ensure that the young person is at the heart of every decision taken.

Outside of work Claire enjoys everything food related – cooking, eating, watching food programmes and reading recipe books. This feeds into her love of travel visiting the countries and cultures she discovers through their food.
