Parenting Across Scotland releases 2026 manifesto
Parenting Across Scotland (PAS) has launched its 2026 manifesto, which contains several key policy calls that they argue should be introduced in order to support parents, carers, and families across Scotland, and ensure children and young people have the best possible start in life.
Launched in October, the manifesto was released in anticipation of the 2026 Scottish parliamentary elections, and encourages all political parties standing to consider six policy calls and several important questions when crafting their own manifestos.
The calls include increasing the Scottish Child Payment, delivering universal and intensive whole family support, and investing in a national hobby framework for children and young people. The questions are centred around the definition of family in 2026, what whole family support looks like, and how we can tackle child poverty.
In a statement released with the manifesto, Parenting Across Scotland CEO, Amy Woodhouse, said:
There’s a lot at stake in the 2026 elections, but also a lot to play for. As ever, PAS will remain wilfully optimistic that positive change can happen for babies, children, young people and their families. We look forward to working with our members, partners and supporters to turn these calls into action.
