Inclusive participation and engagement with children and young people

Key Learnings:

• Strengthen awareness of the underpinning theories of participation and engagement
• Improve understanding of rights-based and inclusive participation methods and approaches
• Increase confidence to engage meaningfully with young people facing barriers to accessing their right to be heard in decision making

This session will build on your understanding and awareness of the Lundy Model, and how this can be used as a framework for strengthening your approach to participation and engagement. Children in Scotland staff will share examples of methods and approaches used in their work to ensure that participation with children and young people is rights-based and inclusive, meeting the needs of participants and supporting them to share their views and be listened to.
