Ellen Morton
Ellen Morton is Outreach Officer for the Enquire service. They joined as an Advice and Information Officer in January 2024 before moving to their current role in August 2025. Here, they work with parent / carer groups, other third sector organisations, and education professionals to increase knowledge about children and young people’s rights to support at school.
Ellen has a background in education, having previously worked as a teacher in Gaelic-medium education. In this role they took a particular interest in the specific experiences and needs of disabled children in bilingual education. They are currently studying for a master’s degree in Gaelic Education with the University of the Highlands & Islands where their research is focused on how schools can better support these children.
Ellen has a PGDE in Education with a specialism in Gaelic Education, and a Gaelic and Sociology degree from the University of Glasgow. In their spare time Ellen enjoys reading and singing in the Govan Gaelic Choir.
