Voices Forum meeting: supporting children, young people and communities
Free member event
About this event
Children in Scotland's next Voices Forum will take place on Thursday, 24 October in Aberdeen. The Forum offers members the opportunity to explore and discuss topical policy areas with experts and officials.
Throughout 2019, our Voices Forum has focused on the different themes of our 25 Calls campaign. At this meeting we will be covering the ‘supporting children, families and communities’ theme. We’re delighted to welcome Clare Simpson from Parenting Across Scotland and Alison Hay from CHANGE (Childcare and Nurture Glasgow East) as presenters. We also hope to hear from Scottish Government officials on the progress towards Early Learning and Childcare expansion.
We will provide opportunities to discuss your work and to influence our thinking on these issues. We will also explore how the presentations that we hear on the day link with your local context and what Children in Scotland can do to support better outcomes for the children, young people and families that you work with.
About the Voices Forum
Voices brings together the diverse knowledge, skills and experience of our members to seek solutions for the most pressing issues affecting children in Scotland today.
Combined with participation from children and young people, and outputs from our Children’s Sector Strategic and Policy Forum, it is a powerful collection of voices calling on decision-makers to improve children’s lives.
Using the themes of our 25 Calls campaign as our focus, we identified a host of pressing issues which will be explored and pursued throughout the year. Click here to find out more about the focus of future Voices Forum meetings.
The Forum holds four events per year, complemented by opportunities for members to feed in their views and ideas remotely.
Every member of Children in Scotland is welcome to attend and contribute to Voices Forum meetings.
