Voices Forum meeting: supporting children, young people and communities
Free member event
About this event
Unfortunately our upcoming Voices Forum Meeting on 24 October 2019 in Aberdeen has been cancelled.
Children in Scotland are committed to extending our reach to the Aberdeenshire area and better connect with local authorities and organisations up north. We would greatly appreciate it if you would be willing to raise awareness of our work with your networks. If you have any advice on how we can strengthen our communications and work within your area, we’d very much welcome your thoughts and suggestions.
Our next event in Aberdeen is also a free member event run by our Participation and Engagement team and the National Third Sector GIRFEC project, and co-hosted by ACVO (Third Sector Interface in Aberdeen), will cover the theory of children and young people’s participation, based on the UNCRC, and help you gain insights into how we gather children and young people’s views by exploring commonly used participative methodologies. You can find out more about Children’s rights, participation and engagement event here.
About the Voices Forum
Voices brings together the diverse knowledge, skills and experience of our members to seek solutions for the most pressing issues affecting children in Scotland today.
Combining participation from children and young people with thinking from our Children’s Sector Strategic and Policy Forum, it is a powerful collection of voices calling on decision-makers to improve children’s lives.
We want to work constructively with colleagues from across sectors to identify tangible actions that Children in Scotland can take forward with national decision-makers alongside our membership. It is also a chance to hear from representatives from the Scottish Government and other leaders in the sector and to ask them the questions you feel need to be addressed.
The Forum holds four events per year, complemented by opportunities for members to feed in their views and ideas remotely.
Using the themes of our 25 Calls campaign as our focus, we identified a host of pressing issues which will be explored and pursued throughout the year. Click here to find out more about the focus of future Voices Forum meetings.
Every member of Children in Scotland is welcome to attend and contribute to Voices Forum meetings.
