Improve your practice by learning more about the impact of trauma and grief and what can be done to support yourself and others to deal with adversity.
This introductory workshop begins with the theories of attachment, trauma and grief that underpin your work with children and young people and provides an introduction to practical techniques that can help you provide effective support, from formulating an action plan and making best use of resources, to using a range of support techniques including solution-focused brief therapy; working with the body; and psycho-education.

Steve Sweeney is a qualified social worker who has specialised in trauma and grief since he developed the Barnardo’s Rollercoaster Service in 2003. Steve provides direct support to children and families through a variety of interventions including Solution Focussed Brief Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
