About this event

We are inviting you to join us for the Children’s Future Food Inquiry reception, which will be led by its Scottish Youth Panel.

The Inquiry focused on the food situation of children living in poverty across the UK. It was led by a cross party group of Westminster parliamentarians, chaired by Sharon Hodgson MP, and has been gathering evidence for the past 12 months. The recommendations were published in Westminster on 25 April 2019.

This evening reception will provide the opportunity to hear about the report’s recommendations for tackling problems identified by the Inquiry. It will be led by the Inquiry’s young Scottish Food Ambassadors, and will be joined by key experts and contributors in the children’s, health and food sectors, including Bruce Adamson, Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People.

The Inquiry has placed a central focus on listening directly to young people who experience disadvantage across the UK to hear their views about the food they eat, and what can be done to build a healthier future.

Teachers, carers, GPs, youth workers and hundreds of young people have fed into the report and it represents a unique opportunity for us to hear directly from those experiencing the effects of food insecurity every day.

Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
