Children in Scotland has been appointed by the Scottish Government as part of the team managing a new programme of childcare trials in Scotland, working with secondees from local government and Scottish Government officials.
The Scottish Government have now published a revised definition of child sexual exploitation for Scotland.
The new definition, one of the action set out in Scotland’s National Action Plan to Prevent and Tackle Sexual Exploitation and developed as part of a commitment to improve early identification and effective response.
The First Minister has used her speech at the annual SNP conference to highlight plans to review funding for childcare, once again recognising the work and recommendations of the independent Commission for Childcare Reform. She also announced the launch of a parent consultation.
End Child Poverty will host a Fringe event at the SNP Conference tomorrow (Saturday 15 October) to discuss what the new Child Poverty Bill should contain and what other steps are required to end the misery of poverty for all children and young people.
School pupils across Scotland have been asked to contribute to the Scottish Government’s review of school governance. The three-month long engagement project will be led by Young Scot, in partnership with the Scottish Youth Parliament and Children in Scotland.
