Current projects Research staff Completed projects Published research | Parental Involvement in Early Education and Childcare A mapping study carried out as part of Children in Scotland’s Growing Up in Rural Scotland programme for 2004/05 (the programme is funded by the Scottish Executive). This involved a quantitative survey of childcare partnerships in the 14 rural local authorities in order to map the roles of parents in planning and delivery of early education and care services in rural Scotland. The findings are included in the report of the 2004/05 rural programme – Children in Scotland (2005): A Sense of Time, A Sense of Place: meeting the needs of the whole child in rural communities, Edinburgh: Children in Scotland.
